A Wall is a Screen: Short Film Walk in Vilnius

Vilnius Short Film Festival invites film lovers to open the festival with an exceptional experience! For one evening only – 21 January – join us for a cinematic walk through Vilnius old town while watching short films! The unique project “A Wall is a Screen” takes advantage of the nightly downtime of the city to let people (re-)discover public spaces through short film cinema. The artist collective from Hamburg (Germany) uses walls and other urban structures for their outdoor film screenings. Creating new perspectives and proving the power of moving images, even outside the theatre. This creative audiovisual city tour is an open air cinema experience, proposing surprising angles and new perceptions of urban surroundings.

Vilnius will be discovered in a new light (literally and figuratively) by following the projection team from wall to wall and thus from film to film. Each film communicates with its surroundings and vice versa. If a wall can be a screen, then a city can be a theatre. Only the starting point is known, the films and locations remain a surprise. Put on your winter jackets and join in for this unique short film city walk through known and unknown locations. Participation is free of charge and the tour takes place even in snowy weather.
