The complexities of a past shared by two identical twins: Omar and Wesam. A split narrative retells the two sides of their memories – from the instant they were fused together in their mother’s womb to the moment they are parted by the tragic death of one of them.

 

About the directors: 

Abdelrahman DNEWAR (Egypt) is a filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany. He gained international recognition with his short film in collaboration with Saad Dnewar, My Brother, My Brother (2024). The project was selected and awarded in several international film festivals, such as Interfilm Short Film Festival and Nisi Masa European Short Pitch, and won the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung for Co-Production in Berlinale Talents. Abdelrahman is currently studying at the DFFB Film Academy in Berlin. He has experience working across different mediums in the visual arts and film.

 

 

 

 

Saad DNEWAR (Egypt) was a filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany. He was a multidisciplinary artist working across different mediums varying from animation to live action. He received his first international recognition with his short film in development My Brother, My Brother (2024). He was selected to study directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin with his brother in 2022, but he passed away one month before the study commenced, at the young age of 29.
