Vilnius Short Film Festival presents Industry Days dedicated to the representatives of the audiovisual industry. This year, the Festival will feature a masterclass by American filmmaker Bill Morrison, who analyses archival images, a personal critique lecture and events dedicated to accessibility and inclusion within the film industry. All events will take place on the 16-17th of January at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania (Gedimino pr. 51, Vilnius, Conference Hall).

The 16th of January will start with the masterclass “Bill Morrison: Consider the Source of the Image” of renowned independent filmmaker Bill Morrison (USA). It will be followed by Christina Newland’s (UK) film criticism lecture “Writing Personal Criticism”. The 17th of January will be opened by inclusion specialist Clare Baines, who works at the British Film Institute (UK), she will hold an in-depth presentation “Reimagine the Film Industry: A Workshop on Anti-Ableism”. Aurelija Slapšytė, branding designer from Lithuania, will have a presentation “Universal Design in Film Communication”, afterwards industry experts will share few case studies on accessibility and inclusion at film events. The final panel of the event – a discussion “Cinema Accessibility in Lithuania: the Perspective of People with Disabilities” moderated by Simona Aginskaitė (Lithuania).

The Industry Days will be concluded by a screening of the Lithuanian short film “Number One” (dir. Milda Augustaitytė, Lithuania, documentary, 2023, 15 min.), which was selected as the winner of the National Competition at the 17th Vilnius Short Film Festival last January. The film will be screened with subtitles for deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) and audio description for vision impaired and blind people.
