Films From The Turning Point: 1988-1992

This special programme consists of short documentary films made in the transitional period, all newly preserved by “Meno avilys” organisation. The idea of this programme is to spark a dialogue between different generations of Lithuanian filmmakers by having the turning point as a point of reference. It was a difficult yet symbolic time that marked the transition to freedom, to another order. Despite the “iron curtain” that keeps them apart, there is this feeling of change in the films made in the Soviet times and immediately after.

Three Lithuanian premieres of a digitally restored films will be screened at this special programme: “We Were At Our Own Field” (dir. Henrikas Šablevičius), “The Brick Flag” (dir. Saulius Beržinis) ir “Autumn Snow” (dir. Valdas Navasaitis).
