This year’s VR Short Films invite audiences not merely to observe, but to participate — to become part of the story through two interactive experiences that transport viewers across different times, bodies, and states of consciousness.
“Madame Sapiens” offers an immersive journey into the life of a woman 38,000 years ago. Drawing on the latest scientific discoveries and a powerful visual language, the experience rethinks gender roles, community, and the origins of humanity.
“Monsieur Vincent” opens the door to the sensitive, emotionally and chromatically rich world of Vincent van Gogh, where the viewer becomes not only an observer but the artist himself. In this VR experience, participants can travel through the spaces of his paintings, paint within a three-dimensional environment, and, through the act of creation, experience the artist’s inner states.
Both VR experiences invite an intimate encounter with history through the body, the senses, and personal choice, encouraging a renewed reflection on human identity, creativity, and our connection to the past.
Programme partners: BLON Animation and Games Festival and the French Institute in Lithuania.
