A constantly freezing street sweeper drives to a remote gas station every evening and orders a microwave-warmed Toast Hawaii. He secretly indulges himself into this in a bizarre ritual – the only thing that warms him in his daily life. One night, however, a broadly grinning construction worker is observing him while doing that. Detlev flees in embarrassment and his world begins to fall apart as the desperate search for warmth drags him deeper and deeper into his inner abyss.
About the director:
Ferdinand Ehrhardt was born in Dresdenin 1999. Acting with his brother’s cuddly toys in his childhood bed somehow led to his studies in animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. There he learned audiovisual storytelling, and with the stop-motion short DETLEV he completed his studies in 2024.
