Oh là là! Mission Impossible!

Six short films, six ways of exploring the absurd, the sensitive, and the unexpected. Blending visual experimentation, intimate storytelling, and contemporary satire, “Oh La La! Mission Impossible!” offers a concise yet rich journey through the vitality of today’s animated creation.

The programme opens with the tension-tinged irony of The Impossible Mission by Nicolas Gebbe, followed by Martyr’s Guidebook by Maks Rzontkowski, which shows the downside of bing an ultimate good guy. Quai Sisowath by Stéphanie Lansaque & François Leroy then offers a kind of nightmarish love story, immersed in the urban flows of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. With Detlev by Ferdinand Ehrhardt, the tone takes on offbeat humor and gentle melancholy, while Free the Chicken by Matúš Vizár unfolds a sharp, satirical animal fable. The program closes with The Undying Pain of Existence by Oscar Jacobson, a brief yet incisive meditation on solitude of a living model and the search for meaning of art.

Together, these six films sketch a compact yet vibrant panorama of contemporary filmmaking. Each of them questions our habits, perspectives, and certainties in its own unique way. A short, dense animated journey that remains resolutely open to the many ways of telling, and reinventing the crazy world we are living in.
