Kicking off the New Year with the 11th Vilnius International Short Film Festival
The biggest short film event in the Baltic States is changing its traditional autumn date and moving to the beginning of the year. The festival will start in Vilnius on January 18-22 and then continue to Kaunas, Klaipeda, Panevezys, Siauliai and Ukmerge on January 26-29, thus beginning the new Lithuanian film festival cycle by presenting a crafty selection of the most interesting short films from Lithuania and abroad.
‘With the upcoming 11th Vilnius International Short Film Festival we are stepping into a new decade and an early festival adolescence – it is a time of searching and question-raising. Will we be able to find all the answers? Perhaps what matters is to keep on thoroughly examining the daily life around us without jumping into rushed conclusions about ourselves and the others? These are the things this year’s edition of the festival and the films in it are pondering,’ says the festival’s artistic director Marija Razgute.
