Meet the programmers of International and National competitions!

We are happy to announce the new Vilnius International Short Film Festival 2020 programmers team! Meet International competition programmers – director and scriptwriter Andrius Blaževičius, film critic and journalist Monika Gimbutaitė and producer Klementina Remeikaitė. Andrius and Monika are also programmers of National competition.

Andrius Blaževičius

Andrius Blaževičius is a Lithuanian film director, educator and longtime programmer of Vilnius International Short Film Festival. After high school, he studied Cultural History and Anthropology at Vilnius University and, after a year, switched to the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy where he earned his Master’s degree in Film Directing in 2011. Andrius completed six short films during his studies, including “Ten Reasons” (2011), winner of two Lithuanian Film Academy Awards. His debut feature film “The Saint” (2016) premiered at the Busan and Warsaw Film Festivals and received six Lithuanian Film Academy Awards.

Monika Gimbutaitė

Monika Gimbutaitė is a culture editor and film critic at news website 15min.lt. She has a degree in Art History from Vilnius Academy of Arts and is currently studying Politics and Media at Vilnius University, Institute of International Relations and Political Science. She worked as a coordinator and programmer for European Film Forum Scanorama from 2012 to 2015.

Klementina Remeikaitė

Klementina Remeikaitė is a Lithuanian film producer. After graduating Film Production studies at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, she co-founded film production company “afterschool”. Under this name she produced 10 short films, two of them – “By the pool” (2017) and “Caucasus” (2018) by the director Laurynas Bareiša – were premiered at the Venice and Locarno film festivals. Recently she co-produced feature film “Summer Survivors” (dir. Marija Kavtaradzė, 2018). At the moment she and Laurynas Bareiša are developing his first feature film “Pilgrims” at “TorinoFeatureLab”.
